Tony Griffin, Head Pastor

After being saved as a teenager in Virginia Beach, VA in 1981, he began Bible college training in 1986 at Tabernacle Baptist College in Virginia Beach, finishing with a Bachelors in Biblical Education in 1991. While in school, Pastor Tony served in all aspects of ministry at a Baptist church in the Norfolk, VA area. In 1991, God directed him to help a fellow Bible college student start a new church in inner city Philadelphia, serving as Youth Director for 4 years before starting his own church in Trenton, NJ. There he pastored Capitol City Baptist Church for 15 years. In the early years of his ministry in New Jersey, God gave him his beautiful wife Cathy, and they married in 1997. In 2008, God led Pastor Tony to Pensacola Theological Seminary in Pensacola, Fl for further Biblical training, earning a Master's in Biblical Exposition in 2011. There he met Dr. David Teis, a successful church planter and native of Las Vegas, NV. God used him to direct Pastor Tony here in 2012. While serving in all aspects of ministry for 3 years at Liberty Baptist Church under Pastor Teis, God burdened Pastor Tony’s heart to start a new church in Las Vegas. City Church became a reality in January of 2015. After meeting at a middle school for over two years, City Church moved into a beautiful new church building in April of 2017.

Our desire is be a multicultural, Bible-based, disciple-making church, reaching metro Las Vegas with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our vision statement is fourfold:
